In conjunction with friday drawing days, my main development of ideas arose from my collection of objects, through painting, yarn wrapping and close observations, I gathered a strong and diverse colour palette to work from, which i then began to express through technical knitted samples. As my skills in the area where still at a basic level, I had to think more openly about how i could represent my ideas through knitting, which ultimately came from my focus on colour extraction and pattern, as well as using artist research to look for more contemporary ways to use my new found palette.
As these past three weeks have been a new experience for me in the area of textiles, it has allowed me to delve into fresh and exciting ways of expression and creation. Although sometimes a repetitive and slow process, knitting has been a very rewarding experience. The production of my technical file has allowed me to look back and see the learning outcomes i have had the ability to achieve in the area, even after such a short space of time; proving the area of knitting has a lot to offer and to be achieved.
